A warm, tangy-sweet decongestant syrup combining lemon, apple cider vinegar, honey, ginger, cayenne, cinnamon, and optional horseradish. Simmer gently to extract flavor without boiling hard.

  1. Combine all ingredients in a saucepan. Bring to a gentle simmer over low heat for 5-10 minutes; avoid boiling. The goal is slow bubbling to release herbal constituents.
  2. Strain into a jar through a fine mesh strainer. If using powdered spices, line the strainer with a paper towel to catch more solids (optional).
  3. Cool, then lid and store. Keeps well due to acids and honey; refrigerate if not using quickly. Smell-check if it’s been a while.
